Christopher Nolan is back with Dunkirk

It is a task to make one brilliant film after another. So many directors start off with a blockbuster but their subsequent films fail to live up to the expectations. Christopher Nolan is one filmmaker who has a superb record. Every movie that he makes is appreciated by the critics and also rocks the box-office. Some of his noteworthy works include Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, Interstellar and The Prestige. All these movies had twisted plots and some viewers even had to watch Interstellar and Inception more than once to truly understand it.

Christopher Nolan’s last film was Interstellar which released in 2014. The film starred Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Matt Damon, Casey Affleck, Michael Caine, and Mackenzie Foy. Interstellar was a sci-fi movie which spoke about the future. Now, Nolan is ready with his next film and if you ask any movie buff which upcoming hollywodd movie they are most excited for, the answer will be Dunkirk. Directed by Nolan, Dunkirk is all set to hit theaters on July 21. The film will release in the regular and IMAX format. In fact, Nolan has stated that the movie will be best enjoyed in a 70mm screen.

Dunkirk will feature Harry Styles, Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, Cillian Murphy, Kenneth Branagh, Fionn Whitehead, Aneurin Barnard, Jack Lowden, and Charley Palmer Rothwell. Harry Styles is a singer who was a part of the band - One Direction, and Dunkirk marks his debut as an actor. Nolan was asked why he chose to cast Harry Styles and he said that the singer was apt for the role. Christopher took the risk and compared it to Heath Ledger's casting as Joker in The Dark Knight. Ledger gave his career-best performance and even won an Academy Award for it. Styles, too, must be hoping for a similar response.

For the uninitiated, Dunkirk is a period war drama. The film is set in the 40s and shows how soldiers from Germany, Belgium, France, and England were evacuated from the beaches and harbor of Dunkirk. Since the movie is based on true events, Nolan did a lot of research before the filming began. To give it a twist, Christopher claimed that though it brings an actual event to life, Dunkirk is a claustrophobic thriller.  The new hollywood movie trailer review of Dunkirk was positive and going by the initial trends, Nolan has once again proved why he is the most intelligent filmmaker of the last two decades.
