Downton Abbey is an upcoming British period-drama film based on the hit series of the same name.

The movie will be a continuation of the hit series and will be set in 1927-1929. The television show was set between 1912 and 1926. The film, like the series, will be based on the fictional “Downton Abbey” in the county of Yorkshire estate.

The plot revolves around the visit of King George V and his consort Queen Mary of Teck, the monarchs of the British empire, to Downton Abbey and the stir it causes among the Crawley family and their servants.

The screenplay of the movie will be written by Julian Fellows, who also created the Television series on which the movie is based.

The movie will be directed by Michael Enger, who also directed many episodes of the show including the Finale.
